We are so excited to announce our first artist collaboration of 2023, our friend and acrylic painter, Stephanie Shomsky. For this collab, Stephanie created a hibiscus flower which will be available for purchase on studs or as a combo.
Stephanie is a relatively new budding artist living in Weirton, WV, with her husband of 15 years.
Two years ago, her family went through the very difficult loss of her sister. About six months later, she started attending paint-and-sip events with a very dear friend and discovered that painting brought her a lot of peace and joy.
Shortly after, she bought at-home paint supplies and began painting with acrylic on canvas as part of her grief and healing therapy. Painting became her form of meditation, and she had no idea how much it would transform her and her well-being.
She has since painted numerous pieces and gifts for family and friends. This past Christmas (with tips from Witty Voyager 😉), she hand-painted and resined wood slice ornaments as gifts. And more recently, she started experimenting with watercolors.
For this collaboration, she chose to paint this hibiscus flower for her sister’s birthday last year. She and her sister used to send Snapchat selfies to each other constantly, and their favorite filter was the one with the hibiscus flower and palm tree branches. This painting reminds her of warm and happy memories that they shared.
You can purchase Stephanie’s painting on a pair of studs or as a combo with leather, HERE. Ten percent of the proceeds of Steph’s AMAZING piece will be donated to Ohio Valley Counseling, which offers several types of counseling services based on individual needs.

Our 2022 Ornaments are here! Read our blog to learn who and what inspired these.
]]>But, here at Witty Voyager, we love a great idea and a unique gift for the special people in our lives. Usually, we take the big events that happened in the year and commemorate them with a handpainted ornament (thanks for the idea Aunt Cathy!). This year, we used all of you as our inspiration! You are lovers of handmade goods, you are creatives, you care for animals and plants, you are unique and inspiring, and most importantly, you have become our friends. And because you are so awesome, we wanted to create ornaments representing you or someone you love.
Good-natured: Where are our earth lovers? This one is for you! You love being outdoors and experiencing all the good that nature provides. Whether hiking, bird watching, or just curling up outside and reading a good book, you know there is no better medicine than a dose of Vitamin D. ☀️📚
Best Friends: This one is a reboot from last year. Last year, we made this ornament, but it said, A road to a sister’s house is never long. Quite a few of you said, “I love this, but I don’t have a sister.” Unlike Jerry, we take a great idea and run with it. Spending time with good friends is food for the soul. Tell us something better than laughing all night and talking shit with your best pal? This one is for you… because no matter the distance, the trip to see your best friend is never too long. 🛣️💞
Crafter’s Oasis: This one might be our favorite. In March, we lost our Nana at the wise age of 96. She was our number one supporter, and although we consider ourselves lucky to have had her for so long, the loss still stings. We always referred to her house as a crafter’s oasis. Whether you wanted to draw, crochet, sew, cross stitch, or paint. She had all the supplies. More than that, she wanted us to feel happy, loved, and accepted. We hope this ornament inspires you to give your creativity to the world and that you feel safe, loved, and accepted wherever you do it. 🎨🌈

This month, we will donate 10% of our sales (both online and at markets) to Bonnie’s Bus. Read our first blog to learn why.
]]>This is our Mom, MaryKay. And, before you ask, yes, she prefers to be referred to as Stacey’s Mom because she’s got it going on. We’ve lost count of the men who ditched Stace to try and go out with MK. lol
MaryKay is our biggest supporter, has no desire to craft, and will proudly wear anything and everything we make. This year, MK found a lump on her breast, went to her Dr., and discovered she had Breast Cancer. Under the care of an amazing team of female doctors, she was treated with a mastectomy and radiation. The amount of love, encouragement, and support shown to our mom during this time was humbling, and today we celebrate that she is cancer free.
We know we are lucky that our Mom’s cancer was curable and treatable. She detected it early and had access to great medical care. We also know how important early detection is for all of us and recognize the privilege of living in an area with access to services that can detect cancer early.
That is why this month, we will donate 10% of our sales (both online and at markets) to Bonnie’s Bus. Bonnie’s Bus is a mobile mammography unit that provides breast cancer screening throughout West Virginia, especially in rural parts of the state with limited or no access to screening mammography.
We learned about Bonnie's Bus from one of our customers. She and her team work to provide screenings in a comfortable and convenient environment. Since 2009, Bonnie’s Bus has:
💗Provided more than 25,000 screening mammograms
💗Detected more than 125 cases of breast cancer
💗Traveled more than 199,000 miles
💗Completed more than 1,500 screening days
💗Funded at least 1,800 mammograms through grant funding and donations
Did you or someone you know have a similar experience? Celebrate yourself or your loved one's journey with an item from our Simply the Breast Collection.
